The most difficult thing about a painting for me is calling it finished.

I enjoy the act of painting, the solitude of my studio, and the problem-solving that happens with each work. I am inspired by the things I see day to day, out on a walk, driving down the road, the objects in my home. I am also very much interested in making a variety of types of paintings, from landscapes to portraits, and I don’t rule out moving into more abstract work at some point.  The happiness of accomplishment. The elusiveness of finding the painting finished.

Currently I am working in two themes.  The first is of people and their cars and second works inspired by my first wife’s doodles.  The people and cars series has morphed more toward people in my neighborhood.
